Evenings on Casco Bay are always a special sight to behold, whether it’s a clear “golden hour” of sunlight low in the sky or an ephemeral but spectacular light show as the clouds bend the sun’s rays into streaks of orange, red, and purple as the sun dips below the horizon.
During the summer months, you’ll find crowds of seals hauling out for the night on rocky ledges around the bay, and there’s always the rugged Maine coast, lighthouses, and picturesque islands of Casco Bay everywhere you look.

Ideal for family celebrations, corporate events, birthday parties, and bachelor/bachelorette parties, this 2-hour sunset tour of Casco Bay includes a leisurely cruise past 4 lighthouses (weather permitting), historic forts constructed to defend Portland Harbor, and many of Casco Bay’s ruggedly scenic islands with quaint cottages perched atop craggy outcroppings and eagle’s nests high up in old growth pines. The slanting light of the setting sun highlights all of this scenery in ways that are difficult to describe and incredible to behold. It’s truly the best time to experience the coast of Maine! And remember, this is a private boat charter, meaning it’s just your group plus your captain and crew!
Our personalized service and friendly Maine hospitality are the icing on the cake. As an all-inclusive charter, our guests enjoy unlimited locally brewed beers, spiked seltzers, and canned cocktails plus imported red, white, rose, and sparkling wines served by your deckhand while you relax on Marie L’s padded benches.
Non-alcoholic selections are also available. Your captain and deckhand will keep a sharp eye out for seals and other wildlife while answering questions and highlighting fun stories about the bay and its landmarks and history.

Upgrade your experience by adding shareable platters, sandwiches, salads or sweet treats and more. Sunset cruises aboard MARIE L are a great way to enjoy some apps before dining ashore, dessert after an early dinner, or even a picnic-style sunset dinner cruise for your group.
